Summer Fun

So I was telling a friend how even though I've been here 4 months I still feel like Seattle is not my home yet. I feel like I'm on an extended vacation. Perfect example would be yesterday. The weather here in Seattle was AMAZING!! Monico & Melissa had tickets to a Yankees Game :0) So I walked around and enjoyed the wonderful energy of the city and the people and then met Melissa before the game.

FYI: For any of you who are looking for an inexpensive thing to do with your friends try meeting them for "Happy Hour". I always thought that Happy Hour included just drink but you can actually get some really yummy food in the range of $2-5. Melissa and I met at Tap House in Downtown and had some very yummy suhi and each roll was $2.95. Perfect for people who still want to enjoy going out but are on a tight budget.

I realized that the reason I feel like I'm still on vacation is because well I would only see my family on vacation before. I worked long hours and traveled a lot. And unfortunately even when I was with them I was still thinking of work or working. Although the work situation is not going as well as I would like Im glad to be here. I know this is where the Lord wants me to be and yesterday was just another confirmation of it. Who would've thought that I would have figured that out at a Yankees game on a VERY HOT summer day.

In my last job I spoke with a CAPT who is a Purple Heart recepient and asked him about his experience as he was getting ready to leave the service and he said " I don't want to look 20yrs from now and realize I have missed out on my daughters milestones and realize that my wife is a complete stranger to me. I know I will be replaced by someone else, and work will go on without me but I can't be replaced in my family." I feel that way right now. I have been replaced in my old job by a very capable man who does a great job, but I sure am enjoying making memories with my family right now, I hope you are too :0)

P.S

Yankees 3 Mariners 1..... GO YANKEES!!!!!

Road Trips & Great Friends

My friend Jessica came from Monterey to visit me in Seattle. We had all prepared for the visit but to be honest EVERYTHING went so NOT according to plan.It seemed that every time we planned something we got an obstacle to prevent us from doing things according to plan. But Jessica being the awesome girl that she is, just went with it. So on Saturday Melissa, Monico, Jessica and I rented a car and went on a road trip to the great metropolis cities of Washington; Forks and Port Angeles haha. We played the "Twilight Trivia" they had on this menu in a Cafe in Fork and yeah we didn't get any answers right haha. I guess we are just crazy enough to make the drive but that's it.

Ok so they are not exactly great cities but we had tons of fun on the drive.
We also headed up to Rainer and did a day trip at the lake and hung out at the cabin. The water was FREEZZING!!! Jessica was brave enought to go waist deep and I just got my feet wet. It was so good to see an old friend,so here are a few pictures of this weekend.

Another B-Day

June 27th was my uumm lets just say B-Day and I don't know about you but I always think about the things I have accomplished and those that I haven't yet. I wish I could say I am a year wiser but I find myself learning new things about myself and life in general everyday. I have to say that I love that because thankfuly it means I am still teachable.

We had originally planed to go camping but there was a miscommunication and the cabin was double booked :-( So eventhough things seemed to go so NOT according to plan I realized how lucky I was to be with people I love and that they for some crazy reason love me back. We took advantage of my sister-in-laws brothers Matt pool which was amazing because it was so HOT!!! Then headed to Mels parents and just relaxed.

My brother insisted I play games with them & I just wanted to read & relax but I felt that I was coming off as being a jerk which was the complete opposite of what I felt that whole weekend. I really was just taking it all in. This last year and especially these past few months have brought so much change and I have never been so thankful for the people in my life that keep me sane.

One my brother and sister-in-law opened their home and welcoming me and being my tour guides to Washington. My friend Tim for always listening to me vent, freak-out, brag , you name it he's heard it from me. My family who sometimes I don't see eye to eye with but yet they are the voice in my head that push me to be better. Mikyoung & April who are my best girls ever!! Oh goodness so many people who have touched my life (to whom I appologize for not mentioning you by name but love ya tons!!) And just when I thought my B-Day couldn't get any better I get two calls one from my nephew Mikey who left me the sweetest voicemail. I trully think there was a mix-up at the hospital because that kid is amazing!! And a second call from Monterey and it was my friends singing Happy B-Day. That was the pefect ending to a wonderful weekend.

I don't know about you but there are times that I am overwhelmed at how someone so ordinary as me can have such extordinary friends and loved ones in my life. My brother asked me "What do you want for your B-Day?" and I couldn't ask for anything more. I am trully blessed.

PS: I did ask for an Ikea bookshelf :-)

So why the title you ask? Well I got the idea from one of my nephews. I am the proud aunt of 15 nieces and nephews. When my nephew Isaiah was little the "I spy with my little eye" game was his favorite. I loved how he saw the world with such fascination and a great sense of discovery.

I love to travel and have had the opportunity to be able to see many beautiful areas and people. I grew-up in California and had a great job with the US Navy for the past few years. I was lucky to have my duty station be beautiful Monterey Bay. At the end of February I had to make a decision of continuing my contract in the East Coast or end it and have a fresh start.

I had visited my brother Monico and his wife Melissa in Seattle for Thanksgiving and for my brother’s graduation. I fell in LOVE with the city and the area. I think my sister-in-law did an awesome job of showing me all the beautiful places and things WA has to offer.

So here I am, in a new area, living near family, a fresh start. So come along for the ride.
